Kali Khola Waterfall – Serene Cascade Near Aritar, East Sikkim

Kali Khola Waterfall, also known locally as Kuikhola Falls, is a beautiful natural attraction located near Aritar in East Sikkim. This waterfall, around 100 meters high, flows gracefully down rocky terrain surrounded by dense greenery, creating a peaceful setting that is perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking for a quiet break.

The waterfall lies along the historic Silk Route, a path once used for trade between India and Tibet. Today, travelers enjoy the same scenic route that winds through hills, forests, and mountain valleys. Kali Khola is located between Rorathang and Rongli, making it an easy and refreshing stop for those on their way to or from Aritar.

The area around the waterfall is filled with thick forests, wild plants, and birdsong, offering a soothing escape from city life. The sound of the water flowing down the rocks, the mist in the air, and the calm surroundings make it a wonderful place to relax. It’s also a popular spot for taking photos and enjoying a picnic with friends or family.

Though the waterfall is beautiful year-round, it becomes especially impressive during the monsoon season when the water flow increases and the surrounding greenery becomes more vibrant. If visiting during this time, it’s wise to be cautious, as the paths may be slippery.

Kali Khola Waterfall is not a busy tourist spot, which adds to its charm. It's a place where visitors can enjoy the simplicity and quiet of nature, and take in the untouched beauty of East Sikkim.
